Working backwards from the athletes actual sporting demands, background and performance goals.

Personal Background:
A Galway City man, Played rugby from 10 to 16 during which I learned about S&C from Youtube personalities which sparked my interest in training for performance improvements. I suffered a very bad break to my leg which left me unable to run without pain for years, I continued to strength train to build up my legs again. After some time I discovered Powerlifting by making friends in the gym who regularly competed. I followed that pathway for some time and competed at a European level within the Irish Drug Free Powerlifting Federation and World Drug Free Powerlifting Federation.
I started my Degree and continued to train, I picked up a few injuries between my working life and training. This brought about the interest I have in injury management, rehab and prevention for athletes.
As my course required me to complete placement, I pursued the opportunity to return to the sport which I loved originally, Rugby. Since then I have been engaged in S&C for rugby players and teams, finding a way to stay involved in the sport that sparked my interest in S&C.
Hobbies and Interests:
My lifting journey started as a young teenager, I have kept that passion up and it has evolved through powerlifting and has now followed me into my newest stage of learning and development, the martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitzu. I have taken up the sport and have enjoyed it thoroughly from the first session, so as I continued I hope to compete, learn and take these lessons from this new endeavor and apply it to my coaching for my athletes and clients benefit.
